Where is Bioucas located?
The town of Bioucas is located close to the shore of the paradisiacal lake Albufeira de Castelo de Bode, in Central Portugal, between the cities of Tomar and Abrantes. 3 km away is the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora do Tojo and 60 km away is the Sanctuary of Fátima.
It is integrated into the historic Schist Villages of Central Portugal. We highlight the fact that the walls of the Visitar Bioucas II – Casa Portuguesa Tradicional accommodation were entirely built in Schist. Bioucas is also part of the Grande Rota do Zêzere – GR33 (370 km of hiking, kayaking and mountain biking). The inhabitants of the village are very generous and friendly towards all those who visit us.
We are in a privileged location for visiting beautiful places by land (pedestrian, mountain bike trails, 4x4 tours, horseback riding...) and river routes (kayak tours, motor boat tours, yacht cruises...).
… discovery!
We challenge our customers to discover our Vale da Lagariça spring (you can taste the fresh and healthy water), practice a little Geocaching or even read a little about our secular tradition, in activityof weaving...
You can simply delight in all the natural surroundings or take a relaxing swim on the banks of the “lake”. The lake's water temperature averages 23ºC in summer...
